Bioset

What is Bioset?

BioSET (Bioenergetic Sensitivity and Enzyme Therapy) is a program developed by Dr. Ellen Cutler, D.C., of Mill Valley, California over a period of 20 years of study, research, clinical and personal experiences.  For more information on Dr. Cutler, D.C. visit www.bioset.net.

The philosophy behind BioSET is that the digestive system governs the immune system.  If a person is eating food that they are intolerant to or have a sensitivity to, this will cause stress on the digestive system which in turn, causes stress on the immune system.  The chain reaction causes the immune system to over react, leading to sensitivities and illness.  By ensuring the complete digestion of foods using the proper BioSET protocol, we can get to the root cause of sensitivities and illness.

BioSET consists of three approaches to obtain optimal health: Detoxification, Enzyme Therapy and Allergy Elimination Treatments (based on energy medicine).  These 3 aspects are carefully balanced to promote healing in the digestive system as well as the immune system in order to maintain wellness.  One without the others is not enough to establish whole body health.

1. Detoxification

Everyday we are bombarded with toxins from internal and external sources.  Internal sources consist of undigested food, genetic toxins, and emotional stress.  External sources consist of physical stress / trauma, polluted air, cosmetics and body care items, chemically treated water we drink and bathe in, food that has been exposed to chemicals, antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, radiation from all sources of technology (microwaves, cell phones, security screenings, computers, etc.), environmental toxins, and medications.

The body can efficiently handle a certain amount of toxins through the normal detoxification organs, skin and lymphatic system.  The manageable level of toxins is different for everybody.  When the number of toxins in the body is more than it can handle, a person will begin to experience allergies, and acute and chronic health problems of all kinds.

With proper toxicity evaluation utilizing a biofeedback technique or muscle testing, it is determined which organ(s) and system(s) are affected by the build up of toxins and a homeopathic / herbal remedy is recommended.  The effects are quick and  detoxification should be done at least once a year depending on life style.

2. Enzyme Therapy

When a person is sensitive to a food, when eaten, it does not break down in the digestive system.  Not only are nutrients and vitamins not absorbed from this food, but unbroken down food particles can then pass through a weakened intestinal wall and get into the blood stream.  The food particles, now being a foreign object in the body, become antigens causing the immune system to react, sending antibodies to investigate this invasion. This process sets off a chain reaction of events, basically causing the body to attack itself leading to auto immune disorders, illnesses, allergies and conditions of inflammation.

The first step in stopping this self attack on the body is by using a Digestive enzyme.  In BioSET we use plant enzymes to break down foods, allowing for absorption and utilization of the minerals and vitamins.  By doing this, no food particles pass through the intestinal wall, therefor no self attack from the immune system.

The second step is to ensure proper bacterial growth in the intestine by using a Probiotic.  A Probiotic will replenish the good bacteria and help provide a healthy intestinal wall lining to ensure no food particles pass through.

The third step is to decrease the number of viruses, harmful bacteria, parasites that are in the body and decrease the inflammation affecting the intestinal wall and it’s lining.  This is done by using an enzyme called Protease Plus.  This enzyme, when taken on an empty stomach, acts as a natural anti - viral, anti - bacteria, anti - parasite, and anti - fungal product.  Protease Plus also purifies and cleans the blood by removing dead cells.

These three enzyme products are the basic plan of enzyme therapy.  If your body is needing extra metabolic enzyme support, other enzyme products are available.

3. Allergy Elimination

Every living and non living thing has an energy field.  Sometimes when energy fields come together they don’t interact well and cause conflict.  When this happens in the body there is a chain reaction of events.  It starts with the formation of energy blockages within the meridians (pathways where energy flows in the body).  Since each organ has it’s own meridians, these blockages can also effect organ function.  These energy blockages will also stimulate the nervous system, which sends a message to the brain asking the immune system to respond to the threatening item.  In terms of energy medicine, this is the allergic reaction, which can develop in a great variety of symptoms.

In BioSET, these energy blockages are removed by performing acupressure on specific points along the spine, re-educating the body not to respond to the offending item.

How Are Allergies Evaluated?

In this clinic allergies are evaluated using bioenergetic testing with a computerized device called the Interactive Query System (IQS). The IQS introduces a variety of energetic signatures of potential sensitivities and then registers the energetic resistance to that item.  It is safe and non - invasive.  It is important to note that potential allergies are evaluated based on energy medicine not immune response. Two Types of Food Sensitivities

There are two types of reactions to food; intolerance and inflammation response. Both are treatable.  A food intolerance indicates that the body can’t break down that particular food.  When a food is not broken down, the nutrients and vitamins from that food are not absorbed and utilized by the body. By using the appropriate digestive enzyme, which is evaluated for you during your first BioSET treatment, this problem is corrected.

An inflammation response to a food is when a food does not break down during the digestive  process, passes through a weakened intestinal wall and gets into the blood stream.  Once in the blood stream, food particles are now identified as a foreign body, causing the immune system to react.  Foods that create this type of response are easily treated with a BioSET allergy elimination treatment.

During a BioSET evaluation, it can be determined which sensitivities are intolerances and which are inflammatory responses.

BioSET for Babies and Children

BioSET is most effective for infants and children of all ages!  Colic, spitting up, gas, diarrhea, constipation, eczema, and skin irritations are some the most common symptoms that are treatable with BioSET for infants.  Symptoms commonly treated for other young children are acne, fatigue, stomachaches, headaches, reactions to insect bites, eczema, behavioral issues and poor concentration.  For children to young to be tested directly, a parent can act as a surrogate tester.

Anaphylatic Shock

This type of reaction involves an immune response that BioSET does not address.  It is not safe to attempt to treat with BioSET any allergen that causes such a reaction.  Hopefully, one day in the near future there will be an effective treatment for anaphylatic shock reactions. J
