Elissa

Fort Collins BiosetElissa first became interested in working with allergies and digestive issues when she started having trouble with asthma in 1998.  A friend of hers mentioned an alternative allergy elimination treatment and Elissa happened to find a practitioner in Denver who was recently trained to perform the treatments.  After 4 treatments, Elissa was no longer using her inhaler!  She was so impressed with her results that she immediately signed up for a seminar.

Elissa is originally from Northern New Jersey.  Upon graduating high school she moved to Amherst, Massachusetts to attend Hampshire College.  There she studied anthropology, archaeology and animal behavior.  It was while at Hampshire that she first became interested in alternative medicine.  After suffering from chronic stomach pain one semester, at the urging of her mom, she sought out an acupuncturist for treatment.  She was amazed at the healing power of the body and after just one treatment her stomach pain was gone.  It was then that Elissa began exploring the natural healing abilities of the body.

After graduating from Hampshire College, Elissa moved to Simsbury, Connecticut and began working for a chiropractor to learn more about alternative health care.  After 3 years of clinical and office experience, Elissa applied to Chinese Medical School in Santa Fe, New Mexico feeling confident that a career in health care was her calling.  She left her East coast friends and family, packed up her belongings, put her golden retriever in her truck, her fish on a plane and she was off on a new path!

After three years of training at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine, Elissa graduated with a master of Oriental Medicine degree and completed her Doctor of Oriental Medicine certification.  She once again packed up her belongings, put her golden retriever, her fish and two new cats in the truck and headed to Fort Collins, Colorado.

In the Fall of 1995, Elissa met Dr. Fred Blesch, D.C. and joined his office to start her acupuncture practice.  There she practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine for four years before turning her practice over to a BioSET clinic.

In January of 2007, Elissa completed a year long BioSET internship where she was one of four personally selected practitioners to study with Dr. Ellen Cutler (the developer of BioSET).  Since then Elissa has taught several seminars for the BioSET Institute.

During the Spring of 2009, to add to her skill base, Elissa began attending the Nutritional Therapy Institute of Denver to obtain a certificate in nutritional healing.

Northern Colorado BiosetElissa continues to share office space with Dr. Fred, now her husband, and together they enjoy raising their son Tyler!  Her golden retriever and fish have since passed away, but the two cats became three cats and the Blesch Family has welcomed a new golden retriever, Cody, into their family.
